Nevertheless, sources from that time report about an electoral farm surrounded by moats at the stream - the Dirmerzheimer Burg, today's Tillmannshof. However, the estate probably served less military purposes. The layout and furnishings of the buildings rather indicate a center within the community of Dirmerzheim, where livestock and grain farming were practiced.

The owners and tenants of the Tillmannshof changed over the centuries - what has remained is its natural connection with the surrounding landscape, which became a defining symbol for the people who live here.
